Besides Hurricanes, Hawaii is subject to tsunami, which are wave surges caused by large earthquakes. This morning on Oahu, the tsunami warning sirens sounded at 6:00am and the tsunami is expected to hit the Big Island at 11:19am. All low lying and coastal areas in the tsunami inundation zone are being ordered to evacuate. This is the first tsunami warning in Hawaii since 1994.
